When we saw that Yuzi came in and turned the ball, our hopes and expectations were bigger – shreyas iyer

As he spoke of the ground, Shreyas Iyer said it was uneven. Explained:

“I personally felt, when I went out, I faced two balls – one remained low, and one hit the bottom of the bat, people were hard to sweep. In Wictet there was a variable bounce, we got a decent number to be honest, looking at the victory of 16 running. The improvements were not consistent.

Shreyas Iyer further praised his bowlers for a great start and said that their hopes became increasing when Yuzvendra Chahal began to turn the ball. In the end, Shreyas Iyer ordered his teammates not to overcome the victory and remain humble. He stated:

“Two shots in two additions that gave us such momentum and two strokes came in and took the momentum toward them. When we saw that Yuzi came in and turned the ball, our hopes and expectations were bigger and I wanted the field to attack and right in front of their face so that they made the mistakes and the tide that turned to us.

“It is important that we remain humble and not overcrowded with this victory. It is important that we take all the positive results from this game and try to make Ball one in the next game.”
