American golfer Brandt Snedeker EA of Australia Geoff Ogilvy Captains were named for next year’s President Cup at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago, PGA Tour announced Tuesday.
The 16th Cup of the Presidents will be played in the course No. 3 of Medinah Country Club on September 22-27, 2026.
“It is a tremendous honor to be named captain of the US team for the 2026 Presidents Cup by my teammates, and I’m looking forward to taking our boys to Medinah so it will certainly be a surprising golf week,” Snedeker said in a statement. “Representing my country in the team competition was the highlight of my PGA tourist career, and I will lean with those experiences to ensure that we are ready and ready to compete against what I know will be a unified and determined international team.”
The US team has dominated the Cup of Presidents since its inception in 1994 with a 13-1-1 record against the international team, which includes golfers around the world outside Europe.
The American squad won 18 ½ – 11 ½ at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada in September at the latest edition.

“Brandt is a proven leader in and out of the golf course, from his years representing the United States in the team competition to the construction of a family foundation that benefits the children in his native state of Tennessee,” PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan said in a statement. “I know it will be a tremendous captain and active for the US team in 2026.”
Ogilvy, 46, was a three -time competitor for the international team in 2007, 2009 and 2011. He was assistant captain in each of the last four biennial events.
Ogilvy’s golf field design company, Ogilvy, cocking and mead (CMO), oversaw a complete renovation of the #3 course of Medinah Country Club in 2022 and 2023, adding new holes and re -eating existing ones.
“Geoff Ogilvy is the perfect captain to lead the international team to Chicago in 2026, based both on his great history with the Cup of Presidents and a wide knowledge of Medinah,” said Monahan. “Geoff will take advantage of the upward trend of the international team, where over the years we have seen a passionate level of support of players and fans.
