Moments after putting the final touches in your eighth nfl season, tight final George Kittle made it clear that he wants to finish his career where he started: with the San Francisco 49ers.
Kittle has taken a significant step in reaching that goal as he and the Nines have agreed to an extension of $ 76.4 million four -year contracts that will keep him with the only NFL team he already met, said the podcast “Bussin ‘with the boys” on Tuesday.
The extension includes $ 40 million in guaranteed money and will almost certainly lower the number of $ 22,085,000 previously scheduled from 2025. That cap with the cap over its previous limit for just under $ 10 million.
He also puts the 31 -year -old Kittle, who pledged to continue playing “until the wheels fall”, in a position to play his entire career with the team that originally selected him with a fifth round in the draft of NFL 2017.
“My goal is to take red and gold all my career,” Kittle told Espn on January 5th.
Even if the extension does not guarantee that it happens, no doubt gives Kittle a strong opportunity to reach a more short -term goal: join the 10 -year club of the 49ers. That club honors players who played at least 10 consecutive seasons in San Francisco and includes 51 players since the team’s creation in 1946, but has not added anyone since the match to Joe Staley in 2017.
Kittle will enter its ninth season in 2025, which means you would only have to play one of the additional years added to your agreement to be the next member of that club. It’s something Kittle has called “a huge goal of mine.”
If Kittle continues in anything close to her current trajectory, you should have no problem pushing for 10 years in San Francisco and beyond when she comes out of one of her best seasons.
In 2024, Kittle ranked third among the tight ends in Gardens (1,106), tied for second in Touchdowns (8) and was the first in Yardas per reception (14.2) while it continued to be a key blocker in the precipitous attack of San Francisco. That production has landed his sixth selection of Pro Bowl and another Honor All-Pro (second team, his fifth nod in the first or second professional teams).
Kittle has also become one of the five tight ends in league history to have four or more 1,000 gardens reception seasons, along with Travis Kelce (seven), ROB GRONKOWSKITony Gonzalez and Jason Witten (four each). He also surpassed Gronkowski for the first shipyards receiving for a tight end in his first eight seasons at NFL (7,380), following Kelce alone.
“(Is) better with time,” Linebacker Fred Warner he said. “Like fine wine. It’s doing a job. It has always been great, but the fact that you are doing the plays you are doing right now at this time of your career has been phenomenal.”
